Posting Christmas Cards

Shhhh it's a secret! Today we posted Christmas cards to our families. We walked down to the Post Office brought our stamps and then posted in the Post Box. For some of us it was quite tricky to reach!

Nativity

Well what can I say ..... They sung their hearts out, said their lines clearly and smiled all the way through. Lions, Tigers and Cubs - you were amazing!!!

Christmas is coming ....

This week we have been really busy preparing for our Nativity but amazingly between rehearsals we have managed to squeeze some learning in. We have been learning about the Christingle and the Tigers took part in the whole school Christingle service at the church. We have also been busy painting but not with brushes - our hands and feet! The final pieces are amazing :)

Christmas Craft Cafe

On Friday 30th November 2018 we held a Christmas Craft cafe where families were invited to join us to make crafts to be sold at the Christmas fair. The Tigers and Cubs made bauble sun catchers, stockings, bead wreaths and Christmas tree decorations.  We all worked really hard and made lots of money for our fantastic school.

The Dentist

Last week all the 5 year olds were visited by the dentist as part of a national survey. It was such fun. We had to sit on a sun lounger and wear sunglasses. The dentist talked to us all about his job and then counted all of our teeth. We were such super stars :)

Children in Need

On Friday we all came to school in our pyjamas for a donation to Children in Need. We all felt very sleepy! The Tigers and Cubs made spotty biscuits using Numicon as cutters and made a coin trail with 1ps and 2ps we had brought in from home. It stretched all the way across the playground! In the afternoon parents/grandparents joined us for a shared reading session.

Remembrance and Class Reward

On Friday the Tigers and Cubs joined in activities to commemorate Remembrance Sunday. We made stained glass poppy pictures to put in our classroom window and coloured poppies to create a wreath. Later that day we chose to go on our woodland walk as our class reward for filling our marble jar. As part of the walk we stopped at the village church to lay our poppy wreaths. After all that fresh air we came back and enjoyed hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows - yummy :)

EYFS Federation Day

Yesterday we joined the EYFS children from Hickling and Sutton for a fantastic Fireworks Federation Day. We  created art work, rocket fruit skewers and joined in outside learning.  The staff said how well the children did, even our youngest children.
