A fantastic end to a fantastic half term!

It is has been so lovely to see the sun come out this week and the Tigers and Cubs have made sure they have made the most of it. As Mrs Butcher quoted on Countryfile on Sunday "everything that can be done inside can also be done outside." We took our reading outside, developed our number skills, measured as well as looking at similarities and differences in the world around us!

Chinese New Year

This week we learnt all about the Chinese New Year. We read the story together and watched a film about a traditional Chinese New Year. In our free flow we role played a traditional Chinese New Years' dinner, played with noodles and dumplings in our messy tray and made paper and play dough dragons. Some of us even had a go at Chinese writing. We also went outside and had our own races just like in the story - it was such fun to see which animal came first.

This week.....

We have had an amazing time this week learning lots about shape. We have made shapes with ourselves, which was tricky (getting our friends to listen sometimes wasn't easy!) We have used different types of equipment to make shapes and chose our equipment well as you can see. We used the camera to walk around school ,taking pictures of shapes and patterns we found around our school. During Forest school with Miss Cushion we managed to light a fire which was great fun, it kept us warm when we got a bit chilly and we made some great observations.,such as "The smoke blows that way because of the wind......"    "You need to use dry wood to make a fire...." "The fire makes a crackle sound if you listen carefully........... To end the week Mrs Gilbert arranged a special treat for us.....A SHOW! Greg put on a show called Cinderella. We laughed... and laughed ... and LAUGHED!!! Thank you Greg for our brilliant show and thank you to Mrs Gilbert for arranging it for
